Ask what the player can change and what the author can define
A page called Game could lead to several kinds of experience: a prepared story, a character interaction or a system with author-defined objectives. The label does not tell you which controls exist.
CherryPop’s home includes a Game navigation entry alongside Create, Explore, Chat and Generate. Its readable creator documentation explains character identity, appearance and public/private choices. That evidence does not establish a specific numeric game-authoring system.
Rochat’s official book identifies a game-style character product. Its AI AVG guide documents scenes, objectives, player settings and integer values with success/failure conditions. That is a much more specific public description of what an author can plan.
Work through the minimum design
Suppose an original fictional adult courier must return a package before leaving a station. A small proposed design uses two separately named integer values: Delivery, from 0 to a success target of 1, and DepartureWithPackage, from 0 to a failure target of 1. Returning the package changes Delivery; leaving with it changes DepartureWithPackage. Discussing either option should not complete it. With both still at 0, the situation remains unresolved.
This is our authoring example, not a tested preset. The separate failure value matters because the Rochat guide requires exactly one success value and at least one failure value; a single three-state status label is not a complete mapping to those controls. Check three paths before adding more scenes: return it, leave with it, and remain undecided. The last path should remain unresolved. If every path silently returns the package, a dramatic choice has been offered without a meaningful failure outcome.
Rochat’s guide calls for one success value, at least one failure value and integer state. It warns that unexpected value changes can mean the rules need more detail. Therefore explicit controls create testable intentions; they do not guarantee deterministic execution.
Separate character creation from rule creation
A coherent character brief still matters: who the investigator is, how they speak and what motivates them. But a detailed personality does not automatically define task completion. Likewise, a well-defined state machine does not guarantee convincing dialogue.
CherryPop’s public creator can be examined for the identity and media workflow it actually documents. For game-specific controls, inspect the current Game surface rather than treating the menu as proof of parity with AI AVG.
The linked CherryPop Game route was not readable in this review. That does not establish absent rules. If your project requires the three-state ending above, verify that specific authoring operation there; otherwise Rochat’s published instructions already give you a concrete route to examine.
Choose based on the missing layer. If the character is the project, creator fields and publishing may be central. If the objective and endings are the project, Rochat has more explicit public authoring evidence. No unsupported claim that CherryPop lacks all game controls, or that Rochat enforces every rule correctly, is needed to make that distinction useful.
